Ratu Fitri

Production Manager

Since giving birth to her firstborn in 2010, Ratu Fitri had already made the choice to use cloth diapers, reusable breast pads and cloth menstrual pads in her drive towards sustainable living.

Her commitment expanded in 2015 when she became an initiator of Surabaya Sehat, a pioneering local food and zero waste market in Surabaya. In 2017, she became a trainer for social enterprise with the British Council Indonesia and in 2019, become a founder of ‘SUBstitute Makerspace’ where she conducted workshops promoting a zero-waste lifestyle.

Ratu has joined Common Seas as the Production Manager for the Clean Blue East Java diaper programme where she trains seamstresses, sources materials, designs diapers and oversees quality control. She works with her partners at SUBstitute to ensure we deliver high quality, sustainable products.

As a social activist, you can often find her giving talks on women’s empowerment, inclusivity, and zero-waste lifestyle through popular events in Surabaya.
