Thoriq Karim

With a background in journalism and photography, Thoriq Sholikhul Karim worked for one of the biggest media companies in Indonesia for over 10 years. As a co-creator of Green and Clean, he helps organise social, research-based, environmental activities in Surabaya. For example, the Kalimas river clean up brings together the Indonesian Navy, the National University of Singapore and volunteers to conduct research while looking out for their local environment.

Thoriq is well connected with government, industry and community stakeholders. These include the country's biggest Muslim organisation, Nahdlatul Ulama, and organisations such as Muslimat Nu, GP Anshor and Fatayat NU.
