Project Officer - Ocean Plastics Academy
We welcomed Vasiliki this year to support the contextualisation and adjustment of the Ocean Plastics Academy (OPA) resources in Greek schools.
With her support on OPA in Greece, we have now submitted a suite of resources aligned to the Greek national curriculum for students aged 5 - 7, to a pilot programme with the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. Vasiliki is currently supporting the team to finalise the translation and design of resources for students aged 7-14 for the same pilot.
Vasiliki is an experienced Science Teacher and Environmental Educator who served as ESD coordinator in a large school district in Athens, Greece. She holds a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Science and Environmental Education from the University of Athens and is currently completing her doctoral degree at the Centre for Environmental Policy of Imperial College London (ICL) in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
Her work with Common Seas this year will focus on obtaining official approval from MoERA for OPA to operate in schools across Greece, as well as supporting Greek educators to pilot our resources.
If you'd like to discuss an opportunity to work with Common Seas, please get in touch.
