Marcus Gover
Strategic Advisor to Common Seas
After many years working at board level on sustainability, Marcus has portfolio of advisory and non-executive roles.
As well as advising Common Seas, his current roles include being a supervisory board member of Circle Economy and Enviu in the Netherlands, a non-executive director of US sustainability non-profit Delterra, a member of Unilever’s Sustainability Advisory Council and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Portsmouth, Revolution Plastics Institute.
His earlier career included being Director of Minderoo Foundation’s Plastics Initiative, CEO of WRAP, Commercial Director of a renewable energy start-up and Development Director of an international energy and environmental services business.
Supporting the waste and resource sector is an important priority for Marcus. He has been a Trustee of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management since 2019 and will become President in 2028. Supporting education is another priority, having previously served for 11 years as Chair of Ridgeway Education Trust in Oxfordshire.
Marcus has a degree and PhD in chemical engineering from Imperial College, London as well as an Executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
