Patrick Cumming

As Data Modelling Lead, Patrick’s role is centred around building an evidence-base that supports the adoption of policies designed to limit the harmful impacts of plastics on the environment and human health.

Patrick has a background in economics and has worked across the fields of public policy, consulting and asset management. Previous roles include work at the Minderoo Foundation advocating for the introduction of a plastic pollution fee in the global plastics treaty.

Patrick is passionate about the health of oceans and waterways, having grown up by the sea in Australia with a strong connection to the ocean, and spending much of his youth surfing or kayaking.

In his role with Common Seas, he will bring his experience to build on the increased awareness of the harmful impacts of plastics shown by policymakers, and the growing momentum of political will to act on plastic pollution.
