Project Manager, Clean Blue Alliance
Peter is Project Manager for Clean Blue Alliance and works with Common Seas HQ and those in Greece, Indonesia and the Maldives to drive forward our vision of a global network of island communities free from plastic waste.
Peter’s passion for the oceans and sustainability comes from his early experience in commercial fishing off Western Canada. He acquired a Master of Management in International Business from the Ivey Business School, and a Master of Business Administration and Economics, specialising in Energy, Natural Resources, and the Environment from the Norwegian School of Economics. During his studies he worked in India as a strategy consultant, and with Verizon Communications, where he was a Project Manager, organising and testing IOT technologies as a solution for traceability and supply chain security.
Following this period, his work as a strategy consultant focused on sustainable solutions for public and private actors in the global commodities sector. His work spanned four continents, over ten commodities, and impacted the lives of millions. Clients included the MasterCard Foundation, IDH, the British Columbia Seafood Alliance, and many of the world's largest commodity traders. He has experience in economic and environmental modelling, report generation, and multi-stakeholder management - in terrestrial and aquatic sectors. His work led him to be named a Young Global Ocean Leader by the Sustainable Ocean Alliance and a Young Global Changer by the G20.
