Education Officer, Barbados
As Education Project Officer for Common Seas, Stacey Alvarez de la Campa is based on the sunny island of Barbados, where she focuses on equipping teachers to deliver Education for Sustainability with a focus on plastic pollution. She also inspires and empowers young people through our Plastic Clever Schools Programme and supports curriculum development across Barbados and the Caribbean.
Stacey’s career spans the fields of Humanities, Law, Education, and Sustainability. With postgraduate studies in Island Studies, she specializes in integrating indigenous knowledge into climate adaptation policy.
Stacey joined Common Seas to make a meaningful impact by empowering young people. Her passion for tackling plastic pollution stems from childhood, and she remains hopeful for the future through the love of learning she witnesses in young people today
