On the 1st of December, British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste, His Excellency Owen Jenkins CMG, came to Surabaya and took the opportunity to visit Muslimat NU Surabaya, chaired by ibu Lilik Fadhilah.
East Java governor, ibu Khofifah Indar Parawansa, welcomed the British Ambassador and Common Seas Indonesia team to her office. It resulted in a multi-party collaboration between East Java Governor, British Embassy and Common Seas Indonesia to join forces and networks to fight single-use diaper pollution.
Common Seas Indonesia COO, Celia Siura, presented our partnership with Muslimat (the biggest woman muslim association of Indonesia) who are manufacturing reusable cloth diapers.
We were extremely pleased by the commitment from the Ambassador to help us network with British companies in Indonesia to offer potential financial or operational support.
We’re on a mission to radically reduce plastic pollution and stop the flow of single-use diapers into the Brantas River - and we are incredibly thankful for all the help we receive.
